Measurement: approx 22cm high (finished kitten).
Head – 1st round: with white yarn make a magic ring; into ring ch1 (that doesn’t count as stitch) and dc8,
then cont working in a spiral, i. e. don’t close each round but cont working the following round, placing a stitch-marker into first dc on each round to indicate beginning. At end of first round, pull yarn to close magic ring.
2nd round: 1 increase (= 1 inc: 2 dc into same stitch) 8 times (= 16 dc).
3rd round: (1 dc into next stitch, 1 inc) 8 times (= 24 dc).
4th round: (1 dc into 2 following sts, 1 inc) 8 times (= 32 dc).
5th round: (1 dc into 3 following sts, 1 inc) 8 times (= 40 dc).

2nd round: (1 inc) 6 times (= 12 dc).
3rd round: (1 dc into next stitch, 1 inc) 6 times (= 18 dc).
4th round: (1 dc into 2 following sts, 1 inc) 6 times (= 24 dc).
5th and 6th rounds: 24 dc.
Cut yarn of first half-sphere, leaving an end approx 20cm long for sewing. Do not cut yarn on second half-sphere and cont to work in dc, joining the two parts.
7th round: 21 dc; on first half-sphere omit last 3 sts, cont to work on 2nd half-sphere working first 21 dc and omit last 3 dc. There are 42 dc.
8th round: 42 dc.
With a yarn needle and long end of yarn left on first half-sphere, join the two half-spheres with a sewing seam where the 3 sts have been omitted.
9th round: (1 dc into 5 following sts, 1 dec) 6 times (= 36 dc).
10th round: 36 dc.
11th round: (1 dc into 4 following sts, 1 dec) 6 times (= 30 dc).
12th round: 30 dc.

12th round: 88 dc.
13th round: (1 dc into 10 following sts, 1 inc) 8 times (= 96 dc).
14th round: (1 dc into 11 following sts, 1 inc) 8 times (= 104 dc).
15th round: (1 dc into 12 following sts, 1 inc) 8 times (= 112 dc).
16th round: 112 dc

FINISHING
Sew the head to the body of each cat. Sew the ears to the head from the 3rd to the 6th round (counting from the top), slightly further back than the center. Sew the tail to the body, from the 8th to the 10th round (counting from the bottom). With the pink yarn embroider the nose and eyes. Cover the trivet with the red base and secure it with glue gun, place the cats and the heart at the base, securing them with glue gun.
